The CWC LA network is growing at a rapid rate and currently enrolls 1,900 students in three high-performing schools, growing to well over 2,000 students over the next several years. CWC LA’s schools rank in the top 8% (English) and 7% (math) out of 758 LAUSD, magnet and charter elementary schools, and all subgroups outperform the district and state. Our schools include:
CWC LA has a Regional Support Office that supports all CWC LA schools. We work with our network partners at Citizens of the World Charter Schools, linking the schools in Los Angeles to CWC schools in other parts of the country.

CWC Mar Vista is seeking someone who embodies our school’s value of social emotional learning, non-violence, and conflict resolution. The Director of Social Emotional Learning and Youth Fitness Coach will be an essential part of our school’s effort to reinforce social emotional learning and skill development while making the various aspects of our school culture cohesive. There are a number of ways that this will be achieved and this includes developing class, grade level, and whole school events, focused support of students who need targeted work, training support staff, as well as planning and delivering professional development. An additional part of this role would be to bring healthy play and physical activity to our diverse student body. Organizing and teaching safe and inclusive games during both structured classes and recess time, that promote cooperative play and conflict resolution.
The Director of Social Emotional Learning and Youth Fitness Coach will instruct “Game Time” each week to various grades, TK – 7. This will be in addition to hours allocated for planning, collaboration, and curriculum development. Alongside Game Time instruction, the Director of Social Emotional Learning will collaborate with our full TK-7 staff, collaborating with the leadership and TK – 7 Lead Teachers, and training our Teaching Associates to integrate and reinforce whole school culture. Additionally, the Director of Social Emotional Learning will be responsible for developing the CWC MV student government.
The Director of Social Emotional Learning and Youth Fitness Coach will be responsible for planning, facilitating, and/or supporting at least two events: The Walkathon (in the fall) and Field Days (trimesters two and three).
